How deep the Father’s love for us – Live Worship

Thank you to my friend Donna from A voice for God – Meeting Jesus for requesting me to sing this absolutely awesome hymn, ‘How deep the Father’s love for us’.

I wasn’t entirely familiar with the song but immediately felt connected with the powerful lyrics. (See below)

How Deep The Father’s Love For Us

How deep the Father’s love for us, How vast beyond all measure. That He should give His only Son, To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss, The Father turns His face away. As wounds which mar the Chosen One, Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross, My sin upon His shoulders. Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice, Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there, Until it was accomplished. His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything, No gifts, no power, no wisdom. But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer. But this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom.

Next week I will be recording ‘Reckless Love’ by Cory Asbury, requested by Matt, The comeback Pastor. Really excited for this one!

  1. Dear Harley
Beautiful song and voice. It reminds me on my father when I was a child: my father played piano and we children accompanied him with singing songs.
Thanks, my friend – nice to listen to your voice 🙂 🙂 🙂
    All good wishes

    1. Oh that’s so great to know. You have blessed me so much by asking me as I really wasn’t that familiar with it. I also found it a bit challenging musically to fit it in with my style but when the Holy Spirit moved it was like the words became etched on my heart.
Of course you can share it! 💕😊

      1. I tried to find and request you as friend but didn’t succeed. If you would like to try to send me a friend request, I’m Donna Stearns of Carbondale IL. If that doesn’t work try Makanda, IL

  2. Dear friend in Christ, to MY weak mind the greatest evidence of God’s love for US, is sending His SON Jesus to us in human form; like US in every-way but sin.

To actually contemplate this truth is the very Mystery of Life itself.

Thank you for sharing God’s love for US in song! Beautifully done dear friend,

  3. We sing this at church and I love it. You did a beautiful job 🙂 I’ve been sneaking in to listen to your Wednesdays for awhile. Music is the language of my heart, so I have to sing along!

  4. I usually go to my church’s more contemporary service that has more modern music, but I love singing the old hymns from time to time and love hearing them from such a beautiful voice as yours 🙂
