Last Monday, I shared a post called ‘God’s Stage’ and wrote about how I had applied to be a support act for British Christian Singer, Philippa Hanna.
This is my update….
I allowed myself to be vulnerable and was open with you all. I shared in ‘God’s Stage’ how my heart began to fill with pride and I started to compare myself with all the other applicants.
God spoke to my heart that day in a way that only He could. I recognised that these insecurities were a form of pride and I repented. I thought that was the end of it but God had some more for me to learn.
My friend Dave from Doubleedgedsword left me a great comment. Here’s what he said,
“Will be praying that you no longer get sucked into comparing yourself to others and that you learn something awesome about God and yourself from applying for the gig as soon as I finish this comment.”
Needless to say, God had already started speaking to my heart and was showing me where I had gone wrong. In my post, I mentioned how I messaged Philippa Hanna, explained how I’d love to support her on tour and then prayed about it.
Where did I go wrong? I acted and then I prayed…..
How could I have made such an error? I can only say I became a little excited and got carried away. I know that God knows my heart and I honestly didn’t mean to go ahead without His say so, but how on earth could I forget to pray first?!
The Lord taught me a very valuable lesson through this and I now know that the reason for my insecurities was down to not praying first.
Lesson learned from God –
Pray first and seek God on His will for me.
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything every circumstance and situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your specific requests known to God.
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything every circumstance and situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your specific requests known to God.
Lesson learned about myself –
I lose my peace when I walk ahead of God’s will for me.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God that peace which reassures the heart, that peace which transcends all understanding, that peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus is yours.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God that peace which reassures the heart, that peace which transcends all understanding, that peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus is yours.
I don’t ever want to move without God telling me to first. I need God’s blessing and I need peace to be my umpire.

Smashed it Haley, good stuff and what an awesome lesson to learn. That peace of God which transcends all understanding guarding our hearts and minds in Christ. That stuff cannot be bought or gained from no music gig.
“I lose my peace when I walk ahead of God’s will for me.” – Amen to this.

Pride comes from insecurity. Never thought of that though. It is very true.

I understand this and that is why I now offer my paintings downloads for free. Also the funds from the sale of two other paintings , one of which you purchased was donated to The Salvation Army. When we have a gift I think it should be shared. If we are open God shows us our path. Ego sometimes try’s to step in due to our insecurities. Elaine x.
P.S. Thank goodness the snows gone

That’s good to do this. More ministers should have this mindset, and not get paid to express the gift that was given to them.
God bless you.

That’s so lovely, Elaine. Such a great idea and I’m so pleased that my purchase went to The Salvation Army! 👍
You are so right, when we are open to Him, God shows us the right path for our lives. 💜
Yes, I’m very glad the snow is melting, almost gone here now.
Have a great day!

each one of us has a conscience that prick us before we carry out a sinful deed it’s a God given aid to remind us of our responsibility and who hold us accountable for our sin.
