26th January 2018 The Week in review

Can you believe it, it’s the last Friday in January?! This month has been a great month for me but has gone far too quickly. How’s this January been for you? Would love to hear.

A lots been happening this end so here’s a lowdown of the week just in case you missed anything.

Monday Must-have

‘Freedom song’ was the topic of this weeks Monday Must-have. We discussed how God breaks the chains of the enemy and gives us real freedom to worship.

My friend, Evad Mac from Double edged Sword made a great comment,

I once heard a quote that went something like “most people die with the music locked up inside them”. Thank God for that song of freedom.

I also shared about ‘CreateSpace’, the worship night at our church and how there was a move of the Holy Spirit where people encountered Jesus.

Tuesday Talk

I shared a News story I read in The Church Times, about a church in Bristol that has not been in use for 65 years but is going to be rebuilt and refurbished. I was particularly excited by the vision to reach the younger population of Bristol in sharing the gospel.

Thank you to Vince from A free gift for us for blessing us with his thoughts and for sharing a great website that aids Christians in evangelism.

“If all Christians could find the boldness to try to share the Gospel daily we would have a revolution and revival. Our Lord has allowed me to find a Non-Denominational training that only lifts up Jesus.” You can find it at http://evangelismexplosion.org/training/

Wednesday Worship

I was asked by my WordPress friend, Thought Spark to record a beautiful worship song called ‘Simple Gospel’. I roped my husband Jon in to play guitar and we had a blast worshipping and recording together.

Next Wednesday I will be sharing my version of a popular worship song by Matt Redman, 10,000 reasons, requested by my friend Danielle from Naggiar Vineyards. Can’t wait to sing this one! Make sure you look out for my post on Wednesday to hear it.

If anyone has a request for a song, (Worship or Christian) please let me know.

Thursday Thought

My Thursday Thought for this week was ‘fearless faith’ was all about ‘the journey’. I shared a little bit how I can sometimes be a bit of a people pleaser and how God has helped me to overcome this. My key scripture was,

Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I was really blessed in particular by Judy from The project: me by Judy and she said this,

“My people pleasing was built around being afraid to say no and not realizing that saying no meant I was saying yes to something else and often the something else held more value for me.”

What a great way to look at it! Thanks Judy.

So, that rounds up the week. Have a wonderful, blessed weekend and I’ll see you all on Monday!

      1. Oh, I didn’t think about searching Youtube for his broadcast! I’ll have to do that.

I’ve heard of him, but only because he wrote the introduction to a book I read at the beginning of the year. 🙂

  1. Thank you so much- I can’t wait to hear it! Honestly, it gives me something to look forward to on Wednesday :). I don’t remember how I found your blog, but I’m so happy I did. I do posts for a winery (the one that I am attached to on WordPress has moved to another address, so you won’t see any new posts from me on here) but I love following blogs of the two things I love…travel and our Lord and Savior.

    1. Wow! I’m so glad you are looking forward to hearing the song on Wednesday and I’m really happy that the Lord led us to one another so that we could encourage and build each other up in Christ’s love. 💕
I can’t thank you enough for how much you have encouraged me so far. It means so much!

      1. Please- no pressures! I’m sure you’ve got lots of requests! Shout to the Lord was the first song He put in my heart. I cry tears of gratitude and joy just about every time I hear it. ❤

      2. Bless you! 💕 It’s okay, I don’t feel pressured at all.
Shout to the Lord is such a beautifully powerful song. I love Darlene Zchech as well. She led worship at a conference I was at in June and she was so lovely. I can understand why the song moves you. 💕

  2. A busy week you had.
It’s great to read that a church is being rebuilt. All I hear is about churches closing, etc, so this is good news.
Yes, January went by SO quickly. Feels like Christmas was FOREVER ago, too…
