Have you ever been in that place where you feel like God has given you a vision but it feels like it’s never going to come to pass? I have definitely been there so I thought I’d share with you all what God has taught me during these periods of waiting.
I am, by nature, an extremely impatient person. I prefer to get jobs done quickly and efficiently and ‘ticked off the list’ so to speak. I usually find myself doing more than my fair share of work because I’d rather be in control and know exactly what’s been done and what hasn’t. So, basically I am a bit of a control freak who doesn’t enjoy waiting for anything.
There have been so many occasions when I feel like God has given me an amazing vision and I half expect it to come to pass immediately. When it doesn’t happen this way I can become very easily frustrated. Like I said, my natural reaction is to get things done and it’s annoying when I have to wait. The Lord has had to teach me some very valuable lessons on patience and God continues to lovingly remind me that time is never wasted when I am living out my life in Him.
Living a God-filled life is an exciting adventure and we mustn’t forget that the journey we are on is just as important as the end result. It’s through times of patience and testing that we develop perseverance, endurance and we experience God’s love and power as a reality and not just a nice idea. It’s all invaluable training that will equip us for the real deal. The journey gives us time and freedom to grow and learn much more about who God is and who we are in Him.
God is using this journey you are on to:
- Cement firm foundations in Him
- Experience the safety and peace of His presence
- Reaffirm who you are in Him in order to be who you will become
Don’t despise the journey you’re on. Its moulding you and shaping you to be the person you are to become!
Enjoy the journey you are on with God and the destination will take care of itself.

Oh man! Couldn’t relate to this MORE! I too am very impatient and tend to work many “vineyards” trying to just get someplace. He is always so patient with me and has a sweet way of pulling me into perspective and nothing ever teaches me more than when I see in hindsight what He was doing all along. #talkabouthumbling thank you for sharing this. I need this reminder DAILY 😊

The journey with God is an exciting journey, especially when you come to the place you begin to see how He has lead you all your life, even when you weren’t too sure. It’s reassuring at this stage to have that behind me so that I look forward with confidence(and a little more patience now) at where He is taking me and how He uses it to complete His work in me while encouraging others on their journey to “becoming”.

Amen! So true. I’m just beginning to see the vision unfold and it’s so exciting. I can see why it’s taken me this long as I just wasn’t ready before.
It’s great when God starts to use us to encourage others to be patient, after seeing His will unfold in our lives.
Every blessing,
Hayley 😊💕

Definitely agree with you there. It’s when we look back and we can see everything that God has done in our lives that we can see how far we’ve come! Hayley 😊💕

You know what clinched it for me? When I read a word that said “Believe that I care.” So simple, and so powerful. And I just thought “Wow. Believe that you care.” Then you can just hand God the reigns and let Him drive.

Oh I love that! What beautiful words, believe that I care. That sums up our amazing God.

You are so right! It’s hard to see the pieces in between, but those are often the pieces (the journey, the trial, the endurance) God really wants us to benefit from, glorify Him in, and see His loving kindness with us. I have a post coming out tomorrow sharing more about my writing, and I talk about the doubt I have, the waiting, the confusion. I relate completely to this post!
