Thursday Thought 4th January 2018

Our hope is not in the New Year but in the One who makes all things NEW!

There’s nothing better than the opportunity of getting a fresh start and the beginning of a New Year helps us to do that, giving us a chance to leave old problems, fears and hurts behind.

We must not forget though that we do not need to wait for the start of the New Year to come in order to begin again.

Lamentations 3:22-23 says this:

It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His tender compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.

God’s mercies for us are new every single day and each new day brings with it, a chance for repentance and reconciliation.

Choose life

I was blessed to read a post from my lovely friend, Gail at Gail loves God blog titled ‘Choose life’. I was so excited because I had co-written a song with a friend called ‘I choose life’ and God was speaking to me about the exact same thing! I quickly put the song on YouTube so that I could share it with Gail and all my other friends.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Don’t wait a second longer to leave old things behind and step forward into the promises God has for your life. The choice is yours but I’m choosing life!

Every blessing,
