I’m full of colour when You’re with me, You are the artist and You set me free.
I’m still unfinished, You’re shaping my heart. You call every detail, I’m your work of art. Bright City

My heart for ‘Wednesday Worship’ is to share with you all, Christian worship songs, that you may not be familiar with. There’s nothing like discovering a song that sets your heart alight again.
The song I have chosen for the first ever Wednesday Worship is ‘Colour’ by Bright City, a band based in Brighton, England.

This beautiful worship song conveys the colourful life we have when we live in Jesus. The vocals and piano parts are beautifully enchanting and really take you on a journey of joy and wonder.
I really love how God is moving in the UK and is raising up a new generation to lift high the name of Jesus. Bright City is part of that movement and it’s going to be exciting to watch God move through this band.
Here’s a brief look at how the band, Bright City first came about. Taken from their website https://stpetersbrighton.org/bright-city
St Peter’s Church was planted in 2009 in Brighton, a city on England’s South Coast, bursting with creativity and life. Over the years Bright City has been established as a family of artists (across music, dance, production and visual arts) who all unite around a vision to see our church, city and world come alive through worshipping Jesus. Our values of Authenticity, Bravery and Creativity (our ABC) run through the core of all we do.
Bright City serves and leads the worship life of St Peter’s and meets together at monthly team nights for inspiration, community and worship. Our debut album ‘Bright City’ was released in 2015, featuring 13 songs of faith and hope. The new record ‘Hello Maker’, out on 7 July 2017, captures songs birthed from our community since then, reflecting something of the journey that God is taking our family on in our great city. We pray these songs help you come face to face with God, your Maker.
If you enjoyed this song then I’m sure you’ll love Bright City’s album ‘Hello Maker’. Here’s the iTunes link to download. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/hello-maker/1236994982
Let me know what you think of the song. I’d love to hear your comments.

I am very pleased to read about this, Hayley. When I was in the UK in August last year it felt like religion was in a bit of a downward spiral with the general population.

Hi Robbie, I can definitely see that God is on the move in our communities and believe that change is coming, even if it’s a slow process. The Church of England has been seen to be ‘stuffy’ and ‘religious’ in former years but are starting to become a lot more authentic and relatable in their approach. Change is positive!
Where did you visit when you came over here?
Love Hayley 😊💕

Did you go for any particular reason or just a holiday?

My family is from Kent and Suffolk, Hayley. We come over to the UK as often as possible so that our boys know their family and roots.

I Love your Spiritual Songs Haley, God’s Heart is in them,Thank you for your presentation, their Beautiful and express your Heart in Unity.
I also Love Scripture in Song or the Psalms, they were the Songs I first heard as a Christian but I also value highly the Traditional Hymns, yes they all have a part in Worship, they are God’s Balance, reaching out to every Generation, Teaching and Uplifting us as The Body of Christ in Unity and Love.
Colossians 3:15-17 And let the Peace of God rule in your Hearts to the which also ye are called in one Body and be ye thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all Wisdom, Teaching and Admonishing one another in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual songs, Singing with grace in your Hearts to The Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed do all in the name of The Lord Jesus giving thanks to God and The Father by Him.
Ephesians 5:18-20 …….but be filled with the Spirit speaking to yourselves in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs, Singing and making Melody in your Heart to the Lord Giving thanks always for all things unto God and The Father in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christian Love Haley and God’s Blessings,
Anne ( Granny Annie)

A beautiful comment to treasure, Anne. Thank you for your wisdom and input. I really do love how God brings people together, from all different backgrounds, cultures and age groups. Our God leaves no one behind and there are special songs of worship for everyone to enable all to enter into His presence.
God bless you, wonderful woman of God.
Love Hayley 😊💕

I’m happy to hear the Lord is moving in the UK. I went a couple of years ago and I didn’t get the impression that having a relationship with God is of any importance to most people there. (not that much of the US is heading down that same path) That is what really first intrigued me about your blog, a young British woman with a heart for Jesus 🙂
