Having a sense of belonging is an inherent, God given desire to be a part of something greater than ourselves.
Without this sense of belonging we can feel insecure, unloved and unappreciated. This can then have an impact on the life choices we make and also the path that we follow.
When we know where we belong and who we belong to, it provides us with a sense of security and gives us confidence to know we are accepted.
When we are secure in knowing where we belong we are able to trust God and walk forward into the calling that God has for our lives.
Father to the fatherless
It is important to God that you know who you belong to. You may have suffered rejection from your earthly father but Psalm 68:5 tells us that God is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of widows.
It goes on to say that God places the lonely in families. What a beautiful picture of a loving God that reaches out to the lost and lonely and adopts them as His very own.
There’s a place at the table
You may have suffered rejection at the hands of people but know this, God will never ever reject you and has saved a place at the table, just for you.
No matter how insecure you feel or how much of an outsider you may think you are; there is a place for you at the table in God’s Kingdom.
You have an important part to play and God wants to use your God-given talents for His glory.
When you know you belong to God your self-worth is rooted in Him and your confidence and strength is found in Him.
You cannot fail when you belong to God because He provides you with everything you could ever need to live a life of love and purpose.
Belonging to God means you are valuable and precious to Him. God has no favourites. There is a place for you & an opportunity to ‘become’ what God has called you to be.
Every blessing to you,
Praise God!!! ❤ How lovingly and beautifully written and designed! Comforting! Me and God love you, Hayley! ❤

Such a great post, Hayley. I liked when you said, “When we know where we belong and who we belong to, it provides us with a sense of security and gives us confidence to know we are accepted.”
Sometimes, due to the world we live in, we can forget who we belong to. God is not only our spiritual Father but the Father to those who are weary, poor, and to the fatherless. He is there to comfort us.

You – “Belonging to God means you are valuable and precious to Him. God has no favourites. There is a place for you & an opportunity to ‘become’ what God has called you to be.”
Jim – I am struggling with ‘becoming’ what God has called me to be. Thanks for reminding me ‘there is a place’ for the least of us. And with Jesus there is no ‘least of us.’
