Unashamed Praise

David, the man after God’s own heart, King of Israel, mighty warrior, giant slayer and known otherwise as the man who danced before the Lord, in just his underwear!

2 Samuel 6:14 “And David danced before the LORD with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod.”

As David worshipped the Lord with everything he had, his wife, Michal, was filled with embarrassment and contempt for him.

2 Samuel 6:16 ……..Michal, daughter of Saul, watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.

How awful that his very own wife despised him! As followers of Jesus, we can be sure that we will come across people in our own lives that despise us too, even those that are closest to us.

Its not really an attack on the person but on ‘the One’ that is within them. It can be likened to magnets repelling away from each other.

The ‘Michal’s’ of this world will find it challenging to understand your joy and love for the Lord until they encounter Jesus for themselves and chances are you are going to look like a complete fool in front of them.

David’s reply to Michal is a real encouragement for when we are going through times of ridicule.

2 Samuel 6:21-22 David said to Michal……. I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes.

David’s pride was not in himself but in his God, who had brought him through every trial he had ever faced. David had experienced, time and time again, God’s great faithfulness, making it an impossibility for him to contain his heartfelt worship.

When we encounter Jesus and walk daily with Him, trusting Him, we will surely see His goodness in our lives. With a grateful heart and genuine love for Jesus, a heart of unashamed Praise and worship will be cultivated.

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the refuge and fortress of my life— Whom shall I dread?

Blessings to you all!

  1. God bless you. I love your site and you too.. I have also seen if we reflect the love of Jesus, most receive the Gospel well as they did in Jesus time. The Scribes and Pharisees didn’t, in fact as we know they persecuted Jesus. I’ve seen the same thing in sharing the Gospel now. If someone will listen to the Gospel, I have done what I need to do. Ezekiel 3:18 (KJV) 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

I have seen if I resect their beliefs they allow me to share the Gospel normally. I love sharing the Gospel. God’s sheep are all around us daily. we need to reach them. Luke 14:23 (KJV) 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. and Matthew 28:19 (KJV)
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. I love to share the gospel too and have seen two people come to Christ just this week! I am in awe of how God moves and how we don’t even have to strive. All we have to do is be willing to allow the Holy Spirit work through us.
Keep up the good work, you are a blessing!
